For parents and guardians
Keeping lessons safe for under-18s
If your child has lessons with me, you should know exactly how they work. Here's what I do, what I don't do, and who to talk to if anything worries you.
How lessons with under-18s work
You make the first contact
A parent or guardian gets in touch and books the free call, not the student.
You join the first call
We agree together what your child needs, when lessons happen and how you'd like to hear about progress.
Online, in a shared space
Lessons are by video call. They work best somewhere shared at home, with an adult nearby. You're always welcome to sit in.
Messages go through you
I arrange lessons with you. I don't message students on social media, and anything I send your child about lessons, you can see too.
No recordings
I don't record lessons with students under 18.
Only the details I need
For your child I ask for a first name and school year, and keep notes on what we cover. My privacy notice explains the rest.
If you're worried about anything
Please tell me straight away, by email at amy96.chambers@proton.me or on WhatsApp. I'll take it seriously and reply as soon as I can.
If you'd rather speak to someone independent:
- NSPCC Helpline (UK), for adults worried about a child: 0808 800 5000 or help@nspcc.org.uk
- Childline (UK), for children and young people: 0800 1111
- Fundación ANAR (Spain), family line: 600 50 51 52; for children and teenagers: 900 20 20 10
If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 in the UK or 112 in Spain.
