Spanish for exams

GCSE and A-level Spanish

Lessons for students preparing for GCSE or A-level Spanish. I'm British, I grew up in Spain and I went to university in the UK, so I can explain Spanish in a way that makes sense to English-speaking students.

Who it's for

  • Year 10 and 11 students working towards GCSE Spanish.
  • Sixth-form students taking A-level Spanish.
  • Students who are fine in class but freeze in the speaking exam.
  • Students at British international schools in Spain taking GCSEs or A-levels.

What we can cover

  • Speaking exam practice: role plays, photo cards and general conversation.
  • The grammar that keeps causing trouble: ser and estar, past tenses, the subjunctive.
  • Listening and reading practice at exam speed.
  • Writing: planning answers and checking your own work.
  • A-level themes and essays, in Spanish that sounds natural.
  • We work from your exam board's specification, whether that's AQA, Edexcel, OCR or another board.

How lessons work

We meet by video call for 50 minutes. Lessons follow what's coming up at school and in the exam, with speaking practice every time.

For parents

  • A parent or guardian books the free call and joins it, so we can agree together what your child needs.
  • Lessons are by video call. You're welcome to be nearby or to sit in.
  • I'll keep you posted on how it's going, and you can contact me directly at any time.
