Spanish for life in Spain
I'm British and I grew up in Spain, so I know both sides: what English speakers find hard, and how Spanish is really spoken day to day. These lessons are about the Spanish you need where you live, not the Spanish in the textbook.
Who it's for
- You're moving to Spain soon and want to arrive able to get by.
- You already live there and want to stop relying on translation apps and friends.
- You understand more than you can say, and want the confidence to speak.
- You're a complete beginner. That's fine, we start from zero.
What we can cover
- Appointments: booking a cita, the health centre and the pharmacy.
- Paperwork: the town hall, the padrón, your NIE, the bank and the utility companies.
- Everyday life: shops, bars, the market, the school gates and the neighbours.
- Phone calls and complaints: sorting out a repair, a bill or a delivery.
- Understanding people: real accents, real speed and the expressions you hear around you.
- Grammar when you need it, explained in English.
How lessons work
We meet by video call for 50 minutes. Each lesson starts from something real that's coming up for you, like an appointment or a phone call, and we practise it until it feels manageable. After each lesson I send you short notes with the words and phrases we used.
